The fabrics used on patio cushions come in an array of materials, types, colors, prints, and styles. PVC-coated polyester is made from polyester strands that are covered with colored and highly-durable PVC. This gives it a rigid and velvety appearance that resembles plastic. Spun polyester is a strong synthetic fabric that can withstand everyday use. Olefin is solution-dyed and then woven, keeping its quality even after years of use. Acrylic fiber is very resilient and is able to last for very long.

After years of use, large floor cushions will naturally wear out and will need to be replaced. Take a measurement first of the sizes of old cushions before discarding them. Use the measurements if you would prefer to have the same size and style for the new ones. Lay down the cushions on an even surface. Take measurements and write down all the pieces and their sizes. If a measuring tape is not available, a piece of thin rope or string would suffice. Cut the strings to appropriate lengths and label them accordingly. As old cushions are flattened and are spread out, expect that every measurement will not equal the other.

I have special dietary needs and I can’t eat out a lot of the times because a lot of  restaurants don’t serve kosher food.  However, I was really surprised while I was doing something as mundane as stocking up on emergency foods that I came across some kosher MREs.  MRE stands for meals ready to eat and these are meal packages for the US military.  However, there are civilian versions as well so the public can keep these in their houses for emergency preparedness.  So imagine my surprise that I found vegetarian and kosher MRE meals.  How great is that for them to think of the dietary needs of a diverse public?  I know it’s to reach a wider audience and therefore more sales but it just goes to show that supply and demand works in a free market.

One of the things I like best about green amber is that it looks great no matter what you set it in. My personal favorite, though, has got to be the ring. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a 2-line phone. I am dying to have another phone line in the house since between the teenagers and my husband there is nearly always somebody using the existing line.  I have already purchased my fax machine to hook up to one line so that I can have my other line free and open for calls. My business has grown so that my fax machine has taken on a life of its own. My fax machine is so busy I can not get a real- time call. I always have to check my voice mail because the calls are always routed when the fax is busy. I can’t wait for my 2-line phone. Life will get much easier for all of us!
