The Legend of The Cross Tattoo Designs
Posted on November 18th, 2009 No commentsTattoos are believed to have started in the beautiful islands of Hawaii, where the brave young men withstood raw tools and painful hours getting permanent marks on their bodies as proof of their courage and standing in the community. Women also got tattoos as a beauty mark.
Technically, there really is no legend, but there is a misconception about the cross tattoo designs. Long before the cross was used to symbolize Christianity, it was a pagan symbol. It represented anger and war. Later on, the cross was used to stand for nature, life and death.
A cross tattoo is more than just a permanent mark on your skin. It represents your belief and affiliations. For instance, the most hated swastika is a cruel symbol of the cross, with its bent ends, but still a cross since it has an intersection point. Which will your cross tattoo stand for?
